It was almost a year ago when Codie performed in Zenon Park as a contestant for Pasquia Idol where he was first noticed for his talent by Alain Leblanc, producer/engineer at AMHM Studio in Aylsham. This meeting got the ball rolling. The production of Codie’s debut single “Surrounds Me Again” was featured on the Pasquia Idol cd as well it has been recently released to country radio across Saskatchewan and receiving airplay and requests frequently. Codie showcased at the 2004 SCMA's and was the recipient of the 2004 CKBI Boost award. Recently he was featured on their morning show, while recording at their recording studio. He has also been featured in CJVR's Canadian Coast To Coast with Dave Baker. Codie has been performing throughout the northeast to create a fan base and support system to help him carry out his dream. He has performed acoustically at the Nipawin Evergreen Center , Credit Union Center in Saskatoon , as well as some other establishments in the northeast such as the Kingfisher Inn and The Tisdale Hotel. For 19 years of age Codie Prevost already has a long list of accomplishments towards reaching his goal including appearances at several events and contests such as Telemiracle, GX94 Star Search, CJNE’s Northeast Star search and most recently he auditioned for Nashville Star in Edmonton Alberta. He has an appearance scheduled in January on “In Conversation “ with Don Mitchell. And will be performing at Telemiracle 2005. Codie is a self-taught singer/ songwriter. His songs range from ballads to the more upbeat, with a little something for everyone. He plays guitar and harmonica. Growing up in a farming family he has learned not to give up when the going gets tough and intends to see his dream through, his family and friends are a great support system for Codie and are behind him all the way!! Quick Facts and Timeline -From Rose Valley -Started Guitar at 12 and is self taught -Has performed at Telemiracle and other various talent contests -Finalist at Star Search(GX94 Yorkton) Two Years in a row -Codie's Manager(Al Leblanc) saw him perform for the first time in march for Pasquia Idol in Zenon Park. -He showcased at the 2004 SCMA awards and won the Boost program(recording sessions at CKBI studios)Given to the most promising new country singer in saskatchewan -A few weeks later in March 2004 started writing and recording with Al Leblanc at AMHM Studio in Aylsham. -Got a website together in August at http://www.codieprevost.com/ -September started booking acoustic show in the north east playing 8 to 10 times a month -Did a cd single "Surrounds Me Again" and sent it to radio across Saskatchewan at the end of October. -Featured on CJVR Melfort and CKBI as well as other Saskatchewan Country Radio Stations -Interviewed on Moose Jaw 100, CJVR Melfort and CKBI Radio -Doing pre production first two weeks of Dec with Steve Fox(singer/songwriter/producer from Nashville) -Steve has worked with Jason McCoy, Gil Grand, Jake Matthews, Diane Chase to name a few and wrote the Hit song "Daddy Won't Sell The Farm" which sold 1.5 million copies for Montgomery Gentry -AMHM Studio is hosting a fundraiser for Codie. To help with his trip to Nashville on Jan. 21st in Tisdale at the Civic Center with guest artists such as Darlene Tuleta, The Chutes and Shalamar Schmidt (for ticket info please call 862-6919 or you can pay at the door) Show starts at 8 o'clock. -Going to Nashville month of Feb 2005 to record Debut Album -March 2005 Participate in the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards -Perform at Telemiracle -Start doing Special Acoustic Shows across the province -April release first single from the album to radio across Canada -CD release summer 2005 -Do CD release parties in Saskatoon and Archerwill -Perform at various summer festivals across the province |
