In August 2001, Pierre-Yves and Guillaume, two metal fans, decide to create their own band. Being both into classical music and metal, they compose an highly instrumental and symphonic music. The first songs are written during the second half-year of 2001.

Once the concept created, the band decides to make this project real and starts looking for musicians. After few changes, Auspex gets steady with Elodie, Alex, Olivier and Clément and of course, Guillaume and Pierre-Yves.
